A quick and easy chocolate dessert sauce that is great on ice cream or with strawberries. You may want to thin it with a little milk.
My goodness. This is SOOO easy and SOOOO nice... I made it, and while it was still warm, poured it over ice cream, and it HARDENED!!! Just like the store bought stuff (ok, not as hard, but probably better for you!). I love this! DH told me I had to go save the recipe, that it might be the most important work I've ever done on a computer (I work with computers all day, and so does he!).... Tastes like Magic Shell! Even better than the original! I heated the ingredients in the micro. for 60 seconds on high and stirred until blended. I dished up ice cream in bowls, poured on this sauce and stuck it in the freezer for 5 mins. to speed up the hardening process. - 24 Jun 2007 (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)
I think I might try using 1/3c milk and 1/3 semi sweet next time. The consistency is more like a ganache than like the crackle shell. It does not get quite as hard, but overall this recipe tastes very good over ice cream and I could see it having many other applications to come in my kitchen. - 22 Oct 2009 (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)
