A wonderful filling pasta sauce made with beef and sausage meat along with lots and lots of tasty vegetables.
500g beef mince
500g sausage meat
1 cup diced onion
1 cup diced green capsicum
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 cups green beans
3 1/2 cups diced zucchini
1 800g jar tomato pasta sauce
1 400g tin tomatoes, drained and diced
1 1/2 tablespoons Italian herb mix
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- In a frypan cook mince and sausage meat with the onion, garlic and capsicum until the meat is cooked through: about 15 minutes.
- Drain and transfer the mixture to a large saucepan. Add the green beans, zucchini, pasta sauce and tinned tomatoes. Season with Italian style seasoning, salt and pepper.
- Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for 1/2 hour. Serve hot on pasta topped with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
