Spinach Bread

You'll be amazed at the difference a little frozen spinach makes to a simple bread machine bread recipe! This also has grated cheddar for some bite.



Serves: 15 

  • 235ml water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 80g frozen spinach - thawed, chopped and drained
  • 375g plain flour
  • 60g grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon caster sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons dried active baking yeast


Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:3hours  ›  Ready in:3hours10min 

  1. Place all ingredients in bread machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select white bread cycle.

Used different ingredients. i used fresh, not frozen spinach. Everyone loved it. - 14 Jul 2008


I made these into rolls. I added 1 tsp bread improver, basil for extra taste, sweet corn for extra fibre and halved the quantity of cheese. It was delicious! - 29 Jan 2013
