    I was sick of having to pay so much to buy Ro*tel canned chilli tomatoes online so I decided to create my own and surprisingly enough it tasted exactly the same as the the canned tomatoes.

    Makes: 2 litres

    • 3 kg fresh tomatoes
    • 250g jalapeños
    • 2 teaspoons salt
    • 6 cups (1 1/2 litres) water

    Preparation:3min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:23min 

    1. Seed the tomatoes and chop until diced. Place in 4 litre saucepan.
    2. Slice the jalapeños into 1cm wide circles and place with the tomatoes in saucepan. Add salt. Add the water and place on medium heat for about 15 minutes until it reduces to about a 1.5 litres.
    3. Pour the made product into preserving jars and use when either wanting or need to.
