Gluten Free Chickpea Chocolate Cake

A very good high protein alternative to flourless chocolate cake. You need a food processor to do the mixing. Give it a try!

Followed the recipe exact and it turned out awesome! Broke as I was removing it from the pan, but it doesn't change the taste or stopping me from rating it a 5! (it was probably my mistake, anyhow!) Can't wait to make it for my family!

Finding out that my son and I need to be on a gluten free diet I have been searching for recipes that will work for the whole family. I wasn't sure what I was getting into with the garbanzo beans. This cake was good. We liked the chocolate taste yet the texture was just a bit off. I would have liked for it to be just a bit moister. I did use half splenda and half sugar so that we would have a bit less calories. I will definitely be making it again. I will use some of the other suggestions so I can get this where I can say it is absolutely great.

pretty good. I will probably make again. I added some vanilla flavoring to cover the "bean" taste. very slight bean taste. DH actually thought it was pretty good.

Recipe is easy to follow, easy to assemble, and the finished product is incredibly surprising. Not exactly a cake, but more like cake-like brownies. My husband and brother, who are anti-bean anything, totally got a kick out of it!!

Oh my yummm! My teen is a vegetarian and it looks like she has Celiac as well. Cooking for her is a huge challenge when every food that is good for her is rejected. It was nice to see her happy about this cake. P.S. lets not tell her how we made it.

Not low-calorie, but it does provide fiber and protein. My friends had no idea it was made with chickpeas! Great fudgy taste, though turned out a bit crumbly. I added chopped macadamias and white chocolate chips. Will DEFINITELY make again!
