Lovely with a cup of tea or coffee, custard tarts are actually very simple to make and best with homemade pastry.
For a tasty twist, sprinkle freshly grated nutmeg on the top of each tart before baking.

This tart was delicious but came out tasting Caramel rather than custard. Not too sweet and not over powering. the pastry came out perfect and was enjoyed by all. - 08 Mar 2012
