    Easy way to make your bolognese sauce taste like it simmered all day.

    Serves: 3 

    • 2 tbs oil
    • 500g minced beef
    • 1 onion chopped
    • 1 large clove of garlic crushed
    • 1 can tomato soup
    • 1/2 cup water
    • 1 tsp vegemite
    • 2 tsp dried basil

    Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:25min 

    1. In a saucepan heat 1 tbs of the oil and brown mince (an easy way to get lumps out of mince while cooking, use a whisk !).
    2. Place mince in a strainer and rest while fat drains.
    3. While fat is draining, in same saucepan add remaining tbs oil and add onions. cook gently till soft, approx 5 mins
    4. Add garlic, cook gently for 2 mins.
    5. Return mince to saucepan add remaining ingredients.
    6. Cook for 10 mins.
    7. Serve with your favourite pasta.

    This is such an easy but tasty bolognese sauce recipe. I've made many over the years but this is the only one I go to now as its quick and delish. Sent the recipe to my daughter who also now only makes this one. - 21 Mar 2015


    This is the quickest and best tasting 'spagety' sauce I have found to date! I highly recommend it. But watch the vegemite, what the recipe says, ie one teaspoon, is all you need! Enjoy!!! - 14 May 2014
