There are lots of great vegan recipes for any meal of the day including recipes such as vegan cakes, vegan cream, raw vegan recipes and high protein meals.
This is a great pasta to serve in summer when you don't want a hot meal. Ripe tomatoes, fresh basil and garlic are key.
This is a really simple, yet very tasty cake. You can use rice flour or something other than wheat. You can also add chocolate chips and, or nuts.
This delectable raw vegan key lime mousse is SO easy. It epitomises the "blend and chow in under 5 minutes philosophy" that I am so fond of. Just throw all of your ingredients in the blender and puree until smooth. Then chill and devour. How easy is that?
This delectable raw vegan chocolate cinnamon mousse is SO easy, and epitomizes the “blend and chow in under 5 minutes” philosophy that I am so fond of. Just throw all the ingredients in your blender and puree until smooth. Adjust the flavourings to your taste. Then chill and devour. How easy is that? This is a fantastic beacon of hope for any chocolate mousse lover looking for an allergy-friendly alternative.
This quick easy Summer cooler is like “liquid guacamole” that kicked me into a pleasure-induced coma that had me “coat-checking” my teeth and dreaming up a recipe for a “taco in a glass”. I have deliberately kept this soup simple. It is deceptively rich – with a subtle flavour that dances across the palate before leaving a lasting impression. Have a few tastes before you add more pizzazz. Also, allow for some chilling time to allow the flavours to infuse.
The best thing about this soup? It takes less than half an hour from chopping board to table; and is dead easy. Unlike starchy soups that need about 30-40 minutes to cook through, this soup only needs about 20 minutes. Just chop up your ingredients, bring to the boil, simmer, blend and serve. I can’t seem to go past using whole roasted garlic in my soups. It just brings a depth of flavour that is hard to beat.
This is my favourite Summer salad. It is fresh, raw, simple, quick, easy, nutritious, satisfying, refreshing and absolutely delicious! This simple slaw is a good balance of vegetables for me. But you could really add anything you wanted. Spinach and rocket work well. I just love the nutritional density and texture of kale. You could just toss these vegetables with a generous amount of olive oil, lemon juice and Celtic sea salt if you need to make this recipe nut-free.
I am constantly overwhelmed by the surprising depth of flavour of this simple little soup, the beauty of this soup – it’s simplicity and bare ingredients. You just would not believe something so basic could taste so rich and deep AND creamy! Those macadamias are just pure magic in this soup.
I have always been a fan of the ubiquitous potato and leek soup. I thought I would try expanding on that idea a little, and adding in some greens. This soup is just delicious. When I think about grilling asparagus, I always serve it with a generous squeeze of lemon juice. Why should this soup be any different? I started making this soup without all the lemon, and found that it just didn’t have that extra pop. The lemon juice turned this soup from “so-so” to sublime.
When the universe gives you lemons – make naturally sweetened ginger lemonade! I remembered a frothy Lebanese lemonade my friend Christine made with a whole lemon. The zest from the whole lemon adds a strong, aromatic citrus essence, and the freshly grated ginger adds a special zing that makes this lemonade extraordinary.
The first time I ate a version of this salad, it was made, and served to me, by a very proud 8 year old. That is how quick and easy it is. What I love about this cabbage salad is the vibrant colours. The luscious purple of the cabbage, and the fresh green herbs. It is the perfect balance for my aesthetic sensibility, and my mild palate. I have always been partial to the simplicity of an olive oil and lemon juice dressing, and this is no exception.
I made this brown rice milk smoothie and it was nothing short of spectacular. OK – so it will be affectionately reserved for the “I don’t care about carb overload” trough for future emotional emergencies. But hey – I might just have to pull it out in times of celebration too! It is really that good. Rich, thick, creamy, and delicious. I don’t know what more I can say, except blend this up now! You will not be disappointed.
There are a ton of good vegan mayonnaise recipes out there. But I keep coming back to this recipe I adapted from a vegan camp I went to about ten years ago. It is mild, creamy, and delicious. As usual, I have listed quantities as a guide only. I tend to add in the lemon juice, vinegar and salt at the end, and keep tasting in between each addition.
In the spirit of "quick and easy" I have blended together a fruit mixture that it ready in five minutes. I kept the blend very subtle, but feel free to add the spice quantities that tickle your fancy and make your taste buds dance. They are not too rich, not too sweet; but juuuuust right. These mince pies are quick and easy, and absolutely delicious.
A yummy vegetarian rice and vegetable dish, can be spicy, just vary ingredients from rice to mince if you would like to add meat. Very tasty, cooks for about half an hour! Easy as! Costs about $1.50 AUD per serve!
This is a great vegan pasta recipe. The soy flour in this recipe helps to make a tender pasta without eggs or milk.
Even meat-eaters will love this flavour-packed vegetable stew. Despite the long list of ingredients, the stew is simple to prepare for a hearty family meal. Serve it with couscous spiced with a little harissa sauce.
I devised this recipe - these are like a cross between a scone and a biscuit. 100% vegan.
It doesn’t get much easier than this delicious pesto. This version from The Australian Macadamia Society is a winner…and SO easy. Literally, throw everything in the food processor; then blend and chow! No chopping, no mess, no fuss. And best of all – it is absolutely phenomenal. You won’t believe something so easy can have so much flavour. It is just to die for. Try to purchase semi-dried tomatoes in olive oil, as it is much healthier.
My mum and I make these raw fruit balls all the time and they are absolutely delicious. We use raw almonds, cashews and macadamias as our nutty blend. But you could use any nuts that tickle your festive fancy. Just know that each nut mix will yield a treat of a different personality.
