Christmas in July is a great excuse to cook up a mid-winter feast for family and friends where you can enjoy winter produce in a Christmas style.
We worked out the other day this recipe is probably from around 1890. They used breadcrumbs to pad it out back then and my mother-in-law still does that. It tastes fantastic. Best if you can make it two weeks ahead.
This mulled wine, flavoured with clementines, cinnamon and fresh ginger is perfect for a Christmas in July party or anytime you're having a party in winter.
I love apple crumble. Even more than apple pie. After many years of trial and error and amalgamating other recipes I think I've finally perfected it! Or to the delight of my taste buds anyway.
This is a very yummy potato bake that I always get requested to bring for Christmas or any other family get together. Best of all its really easy to make. You can really put pretty much anything between the layers, but I think an onion type flavour and a bacon type flavour taste best.
This is out of my mum's recipe diary, it's a favorite for cooler months although she would make it year round. It's delicious and although some include sultanas - I've left these out because I don't like them. If you do add them - sprinkle them in-between the bread before you pour on the mixture.
