These are light fluffy melt-in-your-mouth scones. The fizzy lemonade gives them a lift. Great beginner recipe that children can make too. Serve warm with jam and clotted or whipped cream.

A modified recipe from a yummy original that my mum made me all through my childhood. The original I might as well also post. This recipe is great for those allergic to eggs but I like it mainly because it's so rich and moist!

This is the original recipe that compliments the eggless date loaf. This recipe is great for those allergic to eggs but I like it mainly because it's so rich and moist! Butter the slices if you so wish. This loaf is great picnic food and lasts for a good while too.

Having 4 children and all their friends I had to feed the neighbourhood and this met the need. Use any of the extra fillings I've suggested - choc chips, coconut, nuts, sultanas. These also make great jam drops.

This is a boiled fruit loaf. You could use any sort of fruit you fancy in it. Substitute the butter for margarine and it is dairy free as well as egg free. It is a very good keeper (if it lasts long enough). Tastes better after a couple of days. Suitable to freeze. Serve buttered.

A biscuit for chocolate addicts. A wonderful easy recipe that is great for kids - easy to make and store well. They can be frozen, either in mixture form, or in biscuit form. Made tiny these biscuits are dainty and lovely to have with coffee or tea. You can also use the normal sized M&Ms if you like, though it is harder to make the dainty sized biscuits!
