Seitan is a protein rich food made from wheat gluten, and is used in many vegetarian dishes. This recipe makes basic pieces that you can crumb and fry it to be served as cutlets or nuggets, similar to chicken, or use it chopped in salads. Seitan soaks up so much flavor, the possibilities are endless so go ahead and experiment with your favorite seasonings.

This is the treat my children love to make themselves after a good term at school or when they have a friend staying. One cake is big enough to share between 2 children if you can convince them of it!!!

This is the one Anzac recipe I always fall back on. If you cook them like a slice, make sure you cut them into squares while they're still hot.

Traditional Australian recipe, handed down from my mother. Her recipe has ginger in it which makes these especially good.

A yummy twist on the old fashioned toasted cheese sandwich. My aunt used to make these for me for lunch when I spent the summers with her.

This is the classic pie to take on a picnic. Carry it in the plate it was baked in, well-wrapped in a tea towel and several layers of newspaper to keep it warm.

This is a very old baked apple dumpling recipe but it is so easy-just apples in pastry. Serve hot or cold with custard or ice cream.

This sauce is great with most bbq meats. It is a change from the good old plain tomato sauce.

This lamb gives you one and a half to two hours to enjoy your favourite drink while cooking on the BBQ and being basted by a home made hot barbecue sauce. You can use an open or hooded BBQ.
