Easy to make and tastes good too. Perfect for the nights when you come home late from work because it is so quick and easy. Also very good reheated.

Serves: 4 

  • 3/4 cup cooked macaroni
  • 425g tuna (drained)
  • 30g butter
  • 1 teaspoon rounded plain flour
  • 300ml milk
  • pinch dry mustard
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup grated cheddar cheese + extra for top
  • breadcrumbs

Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:20min 

  1. Break up the fish in the bottom of a casserole dish.
  2. In a saucepan melt butter then add flour. Cook until bubbles start to reduce. Do not allow mixture to brown.
  3. Add mustard and milk to the saucepan and bring to the boil. Simmer for 5 minutes watching closely. Take off heat and stir in cheese until melted. Add seasoning as required.
  4. Place pasta on top of the fish then cover with the white sauce. Sprinkle the extra cheese and breadcrumbs on top. Place the dish in a hot oven or under a grill until the cheese is golden.
