Awesome mix = ] Note that you can substitute the jelly for either honey or jam.

Serves: 6 

  • enough peanut butter for 6 slices of bread
  • enough jam or jelly (any flavour of your choice) for 6 slices of bread
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:30min 

  1. Crack the eggs into a bowl along with the milk, mix until creamy and pale.
  2. Melt 1/3 of the butter in a frying pan over medium low heat.
  3. Spread peanut butter on 1 slice of bread, and jelly on the other. Press together then dip into egg mixture.
  4. Place in frying pan, once golden brown flip and allow the other side to brown, 1 or 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from the frying pan, repeat with remaining bread and serve with a tall glass of milk.

This is a nice variation for the usual French toast. I used thickly sliced bread and covered the pan so it would cook through. However if I would make it again, I would use regular sliced bread. Wonderful served with warmed maple syrup. - 04 May 2013
