Homemade Beef or Chicken Marinade

This homemade marinade is a basic combination that can be used successfully on beef or chicken. Feel free to spice it up a little by adding chilli.

Serves: 12 

  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated ginger
  • 3/4 cup (180ml) olive oil
  • 2 spring onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper

Preparation:10min  ›  Extra time:4hours marinating  ›  Ready in:4hours10min 

  1. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. Place desired meat in marinade. Marinate in the refrigerator at least 4 hours before barbecuing or grilling.

Used different ingredients. I used this on pork chops. It was so good. The marinade is slightly sweet and really has a good flavour. I didn't have any spring onions, so I used just sliced regular onions. - 29 Sep 2008

This is a great meal!!! It is really good mixed in with a noodle salad. Recipes for noodle salad are on thye back of "Chang's" fried noodles. This is a great family meal. Even the fussiest of eaters will LOVE it!!! - 03 Jan 2010
