Made this the other night because there were two pears left and just two of us eating. The mix of the spices, orange and pears is amazing. Serve with ice cream.
1 tablespoon of water
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 teaspoon finely grated orange rind
1 tablespoon raisins
- Wash the pears and slice; no need to peel unless to take off bruises etc. Place them in a small pot with the water-dont add any extra water.
- Add the sugar, spices, orange rind and raisins and stir well. Cook gently over a low heat for about 10 mins till the pears are cooked but not mushy.
Made as is but served with plain yoghurt. Easy and simple and really highlights the taste of the pears.
