Tangy Tempeh Rolls

Tangy Tempeh Rolls

Be the first to make this!

I hate tofu but love tempeh and this is tangy and tasty roll. My boyfriend and I eat this all the time. It's great because it's vegan for him and I still like it even though I'm not a vegetarian. I also sometimes add chilli to the marinade!

Serves: 4

  • 125 ml soy sauce
  • 125 ml barbecue or tomato sauce
  • 1 packet of tempeh (250g) cubed or crumbled
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 red capsicum, seeded and chopped
  • 1 green capsicum, seeded and chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 hamburger rolls, split and toasted

  1. Mix together the soy and tomato or barbecue sauce in a medium bowl. Stir the tempeh into the sauce and let it marinate for about 20 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a frypan over medium heat. Add the red and green capsicum and the onion. Cook, stirring frequently until tender. Stir in the tempeh and marinade, and heat through.
  3. Spoon the tempeh mixture onto the rolls and serve.
