The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies are by far better than store brought. My husband takes these to work for break time, and says they are too good to share!!

Serves: 12 

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups (310g) self-raising flour
  • 250g butter
  • 1 cup (155g) raw sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 100g chocolate bits

Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:25min 

  1. Preheat oven to 190 degrees C.
  2. Beat butter, sugar and vanilla essence in a bowl until light and creamy.
  3. Beat in the eggs.
  4. Gradually fold in the flour and stir in the chocolate chips.
  5. Take a large teaspoonful of mixture and roll it into a ball.
  6. Place on a greased baking tray and bake for approx 15 minutes or until light golden brown.
  7. Cool for 5 minutes on the tray before placing on a cooling rack.

These really are the best ever!! (I did make a little change, I used crushed up picnic bars instead of chocolate chips) they don’t last long - 31 Jan 2010
