Egg Free Strawberry Ice Cream

    An egg free strawberry ice cream made in the ice cream machine. Even without eggs it is still rich and creamy.

    Serves: 8 

    • 2 cups (500ml) whole milk
    • 2 cups (500ml) heavy cream
    • 1 cup (220g) white sugar
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
    • 2 cups mashed fresh strawberries
    • 2 drops red food coloring (optional)

    Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:50min  ›  Ready in:1hour 

    1. In a large bowl, combine the milk, cream, sugar, salt, vanilla, strawberries, and food coloring. Pour the mixture into the freezer bowl of an ice cream maker, and freeze according to manufacturer's directions.

    I made this yesterday, I mashed the strawberries but found that they were still lumpy and not nice when frozen. I will puree them next time, but all in all nice flavoured ice cream.  -  24 Aug 2012


    @Harra297 the recipe says a quarter teaspoon not 14 teaspoons. I do hope you've worked that out coz you'd have been having some pretty salty ice-cream! I'm looking forward to trying this recipe, rating it with 5 stars as I know it'll be good  -  04 Dec 2013


    Perfect Recipe without the straw berries! I found that the strawberries were not so nice with it and they dident work so well. BUT! Without the strawberries there was too much salt so i had to do 10tea spoons not 14. :D  -  30 Aug 2013
