Easy Steamed Fruit Pudding

    This recipe is from an old C.W.A. cookbook my grandmother gave me years ago. It is an old favourite and a good stand-by that doesn't need any special ingredients, jus what is in the pantry.

    Serves: 8 

    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 1 cup (250ml) milk
    • 2 tablespoons sugar
    • 2 cups (315g) mixed fruit
    • pinch of salt
    • 1 teaspoon bi-carb soda
    • 1 cup (125g) self raising flour

    Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:2hours  ›  Ready in:2hours15min 

    1. Put the first five ingredients into saucepan, boil for three minutes. Remove from heat. Add the bi-carb soda and the flour. Mix well. Pour into greased pudding basin. Cover and steam for 2 hours.

    A very nice recipe, very easy and much faster than the classic one. Specially with the hot weather this year 2015! So less time spend for cooking the better it is!!! And a perfect taste too, loved it!  -  25 Dec 2015


    I made this pudding to have with xmas lunch 2014 so easy to prepare,it was delicious, 2 days later still moist and fresh. highly recommend.  -  29 Dec 2014
