    This one is great for when you have friends arriving in an hour and nothing prepared to serve for sweets!

    Ingredients
    Serves: 10 

    • 1 cup (220g) sugar
    • 1 cup (125g) self raising flour
    • 2 Tbsp cocoa powder
    • 2 eggs
    • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
    • 1/2 cup (125ml) milk
    • 75g butter, melted

    Directions
    Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:45min  ›  Ready in:1hour 

    1. Grease your cake tin.
    2. Put all dry ingredients in a bowl & mix well to remove all lumps.
    3. Add eggs, vanilla essence & milk mixing well. Add melted butter and stir for a few minutes.
    4. Transfer cake mix to your cake tin. Bake in a moderate oven for about 45 minutes.

    I have a question....when you say cake tin, what size? It looks like a layer cake, but the ingredient amounts leads me to think different. - 10 Jul 2011

    Altered ingredient amounts. 1 3/4 sr flour 1 1/2 cups sugar 4 tablespoons cocoa 3 eggs 1 cup milk 125grams butter 1/4 teaspoon bi-carb soda 1 teaspoon vanilla i also cut it into layers and spread between the layers with raspberry jam and whipped cream then covered the cake with Chocolate ganache - 28 Dec 2009

    great, easy recipe. ready in no time these were a hit with the kids! I made them into cupcakes and iced them with my chocolate creamcheese icing. They were moist, fluffy and delicious! I added an extra tablespoon of cocoa to the recipe. Will make again. - 21 Jan 2011
