I am a fan of Indian dhal and so I made up this lentil soup recipe that tastes and smells like dhal. I use cumin and Cajun spices that give the soup a great taste. Plus its easy to make!

Serves: 3

  • 6 cloves to 1 head of garlic (coarsely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon cumin powder or seeds
  • 1/2 tablespoon cajun spice
  • enough water to cover the lentils by about 4cm
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil (optional)
