Moist and rich chocolate cake.


Serves: 12 

  • 200g butter
  • 200g cooking chocolate
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • ¾ cup hot water
  • 1 cup (125g)plain flour
  • ¾ cup self raising flour
  • ½ cup cocoa
  • 2 beaten eggs

Preparation:40min  ›  Cook:1hour  ›  Ready in:1hour40min 

  1. Preheat oven 160 degrees C. Grease and line 24cm springform tin.
  2. Place first four ingredients in a pot. Melt over low heat until sugar is dissolved and mixture is smooth.
  3. Fold in sifted flours, cocoa and eggs.
  4. Pour mixture into prepared tin.
  5. Bake for 1 hour until cooked.
  6. Cool completely in tin.
  7. Dust with cocoa and serve with whipped cream and strawberries.
