    Passed down in my family for generations these lemon flavoured buns are filled with cream cheese and sultanas.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 8 

    • 2 cups (250g) self raising flour
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 2 tablespoon butter
    • 3/4 cup (185ml) milk
    • 250g cream cheese
    • 1 1/3 cups (310g) castor sugar
    • 1/3 cup sultanas
    • 1 lemon rind, grated
    • 4 teaspoon lemon juice
    • 2 tablespoons jam

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 220 degrees C.
    2. Sift flour and salt then rub in butter.
    3. Add milk and mix into soft dough then knead lightly.
    4. Roll out to 20x48cm.
    5. Beat cream cheese and sugar together then add sultanas, rind and juice.
    6. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over dough.
    7. Roll up starting at the longer edge.
    8. Cut roll into 2 1/2cm slices.
    9. Bake 7-10 minutes.
    10. Melt jam and quickly glaze buns.
