Filo Fish Fillet

The fillet of fish and lemon pepper seasoning is encased in a five layer filo pastry shell that is slow baked in the oven.


Serves: 2 

  • lemon pepper seasoning, to taste
  • 2 fish fillets
  • sea salt, to taste
  • cayenne pepper, optional
  • 250g filo pastry
  • butter or margarine

Preparation:20min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:35min 

  1. Preheat oven to 150 degrees C.
  2. Apply lemon pepper to both sides of filets.
  3. Rub sea salt all over both sides.
  4. Sprinkle cayenne to taste (or not at all).
  5. Lay out filo dough careful not to tear it.
  6. Lay 1 filet on top and wrap like a present.
  7. Add another layer then brush with butter.
  8. Do 5 layers brushing every other layer.
  9. Use same technique for second filet.
  10. Place on a baking tray lined with foil.
  11. Place in the oven for about 15 minutes.
  12. Check every few minutes to prevent burning.
  13. They are done when golden and crispy.
