Nothing is better for a family dinner with the kids than spaghetti and meatballs. So cheap and easy but so good.


Serves: 4 

  • Meatballs
  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 cup (125g) breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 2 eggs, lightly whisked
  • 1 pinch cinnamon
  • 1 pinch ground cloves
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1-3 cloves garlic
  • Sauce
  • 220g pasta sauce
  • 1 cup (250ml) water

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:25min  ›  Ready in:40min 

  1. Meatballs: Mix mince, onion, breadcrumbs, tomato sauce, eggs, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, salt and pepper together.
  2. Shape into balls about the size of walnuts.
  3. Heat oil in a large frying pan and brown the garlic slightly.
  4. Add the meatballs and brown well.
  5. Sauce: Combine the pasta sauce and water then add to frying pan.
  6. Cook on low heat for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Serve meatballs and sauce on pasta garnished with cheese and parsley.
