Baked Macaroni with Ham and Cheese

A cheesy macaroni bake that uses edam and cheddar cheese along with ham and nutmeg to flavour the dish.

- 250g elbow macaroni
- 250g ham, diced
- 100g edam cheese, grated
- 150g cheddar cheese, grated
- 1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg
- pinch salt and pepper
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup (250ml) milk

- Bring salted water to the boil then add macaroni. Cook for 10 minutes until al dente; do not overcook as cooking will continue while baking.
- Preheat oven to 200 degrees C.
- Drain pasta, put in a bowl, add diced ham, grated cheeses, grated nutmeg, pepper and salt; mix well.
- Spray baking dish lightly with canola oil.
- Place mixed pasta into baking dish.
- In another bowl whisk eggs and milk; pour on top of pasta mixture. Make sure all pasta submerged in egg mixture.
- Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 40 minutes until firm.
- Stand for 5 minutes before slicing, pasta will become firmer while cooling.
