This is a sweet curry with a mild curry flavour. Easy to prepare and mild enough for all the family to enjoy.


Serves: 4 

  • 1kg casserole beef
  • 1 tablespoon plain flour
  • olive oil, for frying
  • 2 onions, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, diced
  • 2 tablespoons soft brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 2 teaspoons mild curry paste
  • 2 teaspoons fruit or lime chutney
  • 3 teaspoons chicken stock powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:1hour  ›  Ready in:1hour15min 

  1. Dice beef and coat in flour then brown in hot olive oil for 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add all remaining ingredients and simmer for 50 minutes to an hour on low heat.
  3. Add 2 or 3 tablespoons of light sour cream once off heat to avoid curdling to make a creamier curry.
  4. Serve with rice and condiments such as pineapple pieces or sliced banana.
