Original Chocolate Chip Cookies

    Soft centred choc chip biscuits that are easy to make and fun to eat. I have included nuts as an optional extra, I use walnuts.

    Serves: 12 

    • 2 1/4 cups (280g) flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 250g soft butter
    • 1 cup (250g) white sugar
    • 1 cup (185g) brown sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
    • 2 eggs
    • 2 cups chocolate chips
    • 1 cup diced nuts, optional

    1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
    2. In a small bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
    3. In a large bowl; combine butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla essence; beat until creamy.
    4. Beat in eggs.
    5. Gradually add flour mixture; mix well.
    6. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
    7. Drop by rounded level teaspoons onto greased baking tray.
    8. Bake for about 10 minutes until just turning brown round the edges.
