Chocolate and Peanut Butter Treats

    This is a recipe my Mum made for me as a child, They use rolled oats, peanut butter and cocoa to give it a mouth watering flavour. You will need to keep them in the fridge if the weather is hot. You must boil the mixture for the specified 2 minutes or they won't set properly, I found this out from experience.

    Serves: 8 

    • 60g softened margarine
    • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
    • 1 cup (220g) sugar
    • 3 teaspoons cocoa
    • 1/4 cup peanut butter
    • 1 1/2 cups (220g) oats

    1. Put margarine in saucepan and melt.
    2. Add milk, sugar and cocoa then bring to boil stirring. Boil for 2 minutes.
    3. Add peanut butter and stir until melted.
    4. Add oats and stir until just combined. Take off heat.
    5. Drop teaspoonfuls of the mixture onto a baking tray that has been covered with baking paper then put into fridge to set. Serve cold.
