I love making spaghetti bolognese and this recipe for homemade bolognese sauce was given to me by a friend and uses good, fresh tomatoes. For a more gourmet flavour, add a dash of red wine.
The end result was pretty good but not as thick as I would have liked. I had romas on hand and ended up using 6, but I would have liked a cpl more tomatoes and a bit more tomato paste. It was also a little lacking in flavor so I'd suggest an extra garlic clove and plenty of fresh herbs at the end. I love how the recipe calls for plenty of vegies though!! I would make again but with tweaking - 19 Sep 2011
