    Add sugar and milk to this classic porridge as you like. My sister actually eats it all year round but it is best in winter I think.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 1 cup rolled oats
    • 2 1/2 cups water
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 cup sultanas
    • 2 bananas, sliced
    • pinch of cinnamon

    Directions
    Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:15min 

    1. In a saucepan, combine the oats, water, salt, sugar, bananas and cinnamon. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer until the liquid has been absorbed, stirring frequently. Pour into bowls and top each with a splash of cold milk and brown sugar to taste.

    Something else. Because I'm a sweet tooth I add honey or brown sugar to the ingredients. - 03 Sep 2009
