I have never come across such light and moist scones that are so simple to make. As this recipe is passed around people never go back to the old way. This can be used as a basis to other types of scones e.g add cheese etc.


Serves: 6 

  • 4 cups plain flour
  • 6 teaspoons baking powder
  • 300ml cream
  • 1 can (375ml) cold lemonade, approximately

Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:12min  ›  Ready in:22min 

  1. Place the flour, baking powder and cream into a bowl then fold together.
  2. Add the cold lemonade as required to get a scone dough consistency. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Roll out dough to approx 1 1/2 cm thickness on a floured board.
  4. Cut into approx 12 pieces.
  5. Cook in preheated oven at 200 degrees C for approx 12 minutes or until golden brown.
