On the barbecue: Cut chicken wings into 24 pieces and discard the tips. Combine all other ingredients and marinate for an hour.
Cook on the barbecue plate on medium heat, turning once till they are cooked to your preference.
To bake in the oven: Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
Place chicken wings (prepared as above) in a baking tray. Combine all other ingredients and pour over the wings and bake (turning the wings after 20 minutes) for 40-50 minutes until the liquid has gone sticky and thick.
Used different ingredients.
I used white vinegar instead of apple cider vinegar, 8 small chicken drumsticks instead of 12 chicken wings and I left out the 1/3 cup water and teaspoon minced ginger. - 14 Sep 2009
