    Also known around my place as "Best Potatoes You'll Ever Taste!" Watch your guests try to guess what's in this delicious and simple potatoes recipe. It's the perfect side dish to any meal or barby. It's got me out of many a jam with entertaining.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 6 medium potatoes
    • 4 tablespoons egg mayonnaise
    • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
    • 1 teaspoon dried oregano (or 1 tablespoon if fresh)
    • salt and pepper to taste

    Directions
    Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:30min 

    1. In a small bowl mix the mayonnaise, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper and set aside.
    2. Peel and cut potatoes into quarters or large irregular chunks and boil till nearly cooked, taking care not overcook, about 12 minutes. Drain the potatoes. Lay a sheet of alfoil - large enough to fit the potatoes - on the grill tray. Lay the potatoes close together on the foil.
    3. Spread the mayonnaise mixture across the top of all the potatoes. If the mayonnaise mixture is too thick add small amounts of water till it is at the right consistency. Grill the mayonnaise potatoes under a medium-high heat until brown-moving the alfoil around under the grill if required- about 10 minutes.

    i didnt have any potatoes in the house, but did have eggs so i used them instead, i made a omelette, topped with your ingredient, and some grated cheese, then grilled until cheese melted. it was lush,  -  07 Feb 2011

    Guys Guys Guys - its xanthe here, the recipe published omitted some crucial details. 1. Only use egg mayo - not the regular kind - that would be grose! 2. Brush or spoon on the sauce (dont triple it!) cause it needs to cook and brown - The sauce is not a dipper at all. 3. You cook this in the griller in your stove not on a barbeque at all! Line your tray with foil and you should be able to spoon off the potatoes when ready and disgard the foil - no biggie! 4. Everything else is to taste...garlic or no garlic, cheese if you like - you decide.     Great recipe! I used a small foil pan lightly sprayed with Pam - this always works great for potatoes on the grill. I partially microwaved the potatoes vs. boiling and added a chopped onion. I used 1/2 tsp. of oregano, 1/2 tsp. of italian seasoning, a little parsley, and added a couple of tablespoons of parmesan cheese to the mayo mixture. You can use light mayo as well to cut down on fat. I covered the pan with foil and these were great on the grill - perfect with steak.  -  15 Sep 2009  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)
