    This simple and tasty savoury frappé is a cool and refreshing way to get your five vegetables a day. If desired, you can also serve this as a cold summer soup.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 5 

    • 2 avocados - peeled and stone removed
    • 1 tablespoon orange zest
    • 1 teaspoon finely diced fresh ginger, or giger powder
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 pinch ground black pepper
    • 3 cups (710ml) milk

    Directions
    Preparation:15min  ›  Ready in:15min 

    1. Place avocados, orange zest, ginger, salt and pepper in a processor. Blend adding milk a little at a time until mixture is smooth.
    2. Pour into a carafe or jug, cover and refrigerate. Serve chilled in frosted glasses. Garnish with avocado slices if desired.

    Easy to make, and quick to boot! I wouldn't put so much orange zest in it, though. It overpowers the overall taste. Otherwise if you're a fan of cold soups this one is pretty decent.  -  19 Aug 2007  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)

    Perhaps I'm not too keen on avocados, but this seemed a little bland. I used fresh ginger and that taste didn't blend very nicely. My hubby (who is REALLY picky) actually like this more than me, but I added sugar and topped it with whipped cream.
