Scottish square slice sausage

    A square sausage, traditionally served in a roll for breakfast but you can eat it anytime.

    Serves: 12 

    • 500g minced beef
    • 500g minced pork
    • 185g dried breadcrumbs
    • teaspoon salt
    • teaspoon white pepper

    Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:8min  ›  Ready in:23min 

    1. Use hands to mix together the beef and pork and then stir in the breadcrumbs. Mix in the salt and pepper.
    2. Line a large loaf tin with plastic wrap and press the mix into tin.
    3. Refrigerate for 4hrs then cut into slices to cook.
    4. You can either grill, braise or fry the slices.

    Quite bland, I always add about 1 tsp dried coriander and a pinch of nutmeg to the mixture. Gives it a more traditional taste.  -  19 Nov 2012  (Review from Allrecipes UK & Ireland)
