These popular snack fruits are outstanding sources of vitamin C; they also supply folate and fibre as well as flavonoids, which are cancer-fighting compounds.

Ingredients

4 navel oranges
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon julienned orange zest

Preparation method

1.
Cut the rind off the oranges and cut the oranges into skinless segments, making sure all the pith has been removed.
 
2.
Place in a gratin dish or a shallow baking dish and sprinkle with the brown sugar and cinnamon. Top with the orange zest. Grill for 2 minutes or until the sugar melts.
