Indian Chicken Drumsticks

    These are great for a bbq and can be marinated in advance. Serve with lemon wedges and steamed basmati rice.

    Serves: 4 

    • For the seasoning
    • 2 tsp coriander powder
    • 2 tsp cumin powder
    • 1/2 tsp each: cardamon powder and hot chilli powder
    • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
    • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
    • 1 tablespoon oil
    • 1 tablespoon water
    • Salt
    • 4 large chicken drumsticks
    • Lemon wedges to serve

    Preparation:4hours  ›  Cook:30min  ›  Ready in:4hours30min 

    1. Place all the seasoning ingredients in a dry pan. Stir over low heat until fragrant.
    2. Remove from heat; add oil and water, stir to mix. Remove from heat.
    3. In a shallow dish, rub salt over the drumsticks. Then rub the spice paste evenly over them.
    4. Cover and chill overnight or for at least 4 hours.
    5. Heat an oiled grill pan or cook on the barbecue, turning often, for 30 minutes or until cooked through.
    6. Serve with lemon wedges and steamed basmati rice.

    That is the sign my Daughter in law made when she tried these. I baked them in the oven and served them piping hot. A very nice change up from regular hot wings.  -  06 May 2013
