Baked fries are the way to go when you're cutting back on fat. These baked sweet potato sticks are so full of flavour, you'll never know the difference.

Serves: 4 

  • 500g orange sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1 cm-thick ‘fries’
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Preparation:7min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:27min 

  1. Preheat oven to 210°C. Lightly coat a large baking tray with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Combine sweet potato, oil, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Toss to coat. Spread fries on the tray in a single layer.
  3. Bake 10 minutes. Turn fries over. Continue baking until tender and lightly browned, about 10 minutes longer.

Baked Sweet Potato Fries go especially well with pork in the form of ham, sausages, chops or roasts and taste good with vegetable burgers, too.
