Break dark chocolate into pieces. Place chocolate and cream in top half of a double boiler over gently simmering water. Stir until chocolate melts. Remove and let cool. Chill in refrigerator 2 hours.
Peel and quarter apples, removing seeds. Thinly slice apple quarters and place in a bowl; add lemon juice. Peel and slice bananas and combine with apples.
Spoon apples and bananas onto dessert plates or bowls and dust with icing sugar and ground cinnamon. Slice dates.
Beat chocolate–cream mixture until semi–stiff. Spoon onto salad portions and top with dates and chocolate flakes.
