Easy Strawberry Trifle

    This is a delicious layered dessert you can throw together in literally minutes. Great to make when strawberries are fresh and in season.

    Serves: 8 

    • 1 store-bought sponge cake
    • 250ml orange liqueur
    • 1 1/2 punnets strawberries, sliced
    • 500ml cream, whipped until stiff peaks form
    • 300ml ready-made custard

    1. Drizzle liqueur over sponge cake and mix the custard and cream.
    2. Roughly crumble a handful of cake into the bottom of a dish, and spoon some of the custard mixture on top. Add a layer of strawberries. Repeat the process until the ingredients are used up, ending with a layer of strawberries. Serve chilled and dusted with icing sugar.
