Turkey Stew

    8 hours 10 minutes

This is a very easy stew of turkey, celeriac and swede. It reminds me of the Flintstones, the big drumstick of meat that Fred is always eating!

Love all the ingredients individually which is why I made it. Usually, the smell of food in my crockpot drives me wild. This one had no aromas at all. The absence of seasoning in the recipe should have been a tipoff. I managed to salvage the vegetables by removing the brussel sprouts and boiling the rest down in a saucepan to intensify the flavor. I seasoned with salt and pepper and a tablespoon of olive oil. Made a puree out of the sweet potato, celeriac and rutabaga in the blender. As for the turkey leg; if you enjoy boiled meat, go for it.  -  03 Nov 2007  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)

We really enjoyed this. would definitely do this again. tasted very good. I struggled to thicken the sauce, so I'd probably add some corn flour next time. perhaps a couple of hours before its done. used turkey thigh. meat just fell off the bone. nice :-)  -  28 Aug 2013  (Review from Allrecipes UK & Ireland)
