This is a Scottish fruit pudding that doesn't require hours of boiling, but just ten minutes in the microwave.
hey this recipe is pure brilliant,i tried to make my nanas cloothie dumpling and i allways wasted everything the water always got in and i did not have a coal fire to dry it out! so from one celtic supporter to another YOU SAVED THE DAY AND A BIG THANKS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO AND YOURS! - 03 Jan 2009 (Review from Allrecipes UK & Ireland)
We steamed this pudding because I thought it was more like a steamed pudding than a cake. I don't have a microwave. I made it in individual servings, like I make brown bread. I steamed this for about 1/2 an hour. The flavor is delightful; it reminds me of Figgy Pudding! - 14 Dec 2008 (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)
