Instant Ice Cream

A fast way to make delicious ice cream in a food processor or blender. Use any frozen fruit in place of the strawberries.

Ingredients

Serves: 4 

  • 300g frozen strawberries, or any frozen fruit
  • 125g (1/2 cup) sugar
  • 150ml (2/3 cup) thickened cream

Directions

Preparation:5min  ›  Ready in:5min 

  1. Combine the frozen strawberries and sugar in a food processor or blender. Process until the fruit is roughly chopped.
  2. With the processor running, slowly pour in the cream until fully incorporated. Serve immediately, or freeze for up to one week.

i think next time i would use caster sugar as it had a fairly grainy texture. i would also try substituting yoghurt instead of cream for a slightly healthier alternative. - 10 Sep 2010

This recipe does deliver on its promise- instant ice cream that is very fruity and creamy and lovely BUT you need a food processor. My blender just couldnt cope with the frozen strawbs and I had to use a whole combo of every tool I had to eventually get this made. Use a food processor! - 04 Jun 2009
