    These are so easy to make your little kids can help. Just make sure not to roll the pastry too thin, or overfill.

    Serves: 12 

    • 2 cups (250g) plain flour
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 3 teaspoons sugar
    • 250g butter
    • 1/2 cup (125ml) water
    • 240g jam

    1. Add the flour, salt, sugar and butter to a food processor and mix until coarse crumbs are formed.
    2. Add the water and mix until a ball is formed. Chill the pastry-wrapped in plastic wrap- for 30 mins or so.
    3. Preheat oven to 200 degrees C and grease two shallow muffin tins.
    4. Roll out the pastry thinly. Cut out rounds with a cookie cutter and place each round into the muffin tin.
    5. Add 2 teaspoons of jam per tart, and bake in a pre heated oven on 200 degrees C for 20 minutes.
    6. Cool on a wire rack.

    Instructions were easy to follow. My children and I prepared two batches - a gluten free batch and a regular batch. I didn't use all the water that was suggested, I used perhaps 1/4 cup. The jam tarts were delicious! - 11 Jun 2016
