Baileys affogato

    30 minutes

This was a dessert/beverage experiment my boyfriend and I came up with. It's so good! Dessert, coffee and liqueur all in one.

    44 people made this

    Serves: 6

    • enough brewed/espresso coffee for 6
    • 500g French vanilla ice cream
    • 1 1/2 cups (375ml) Irish cream liqueur
    • cream and sugar to taste

    Preparation:30min  ›  Ready in:30min

    1. Make the coffee and while brewing, fill 6 cups with a scoop of ice cream each. Be sure to use large cups. Top each scoop with just enough Irish cream to lightly coat the ice cream.
    2. When the coffee is brewed, pour enough to fill each cup halfway. It is then up to each individual to add Irish cream, cream or sugar to taste.

This. Is. AWESOME. My husband and I absolutely adored this drink. I used my own homemade irish cream liqueur and I think that really took it over the top. Incredible nightcap drink. Very decadent. NOTE: Math is not my strong suit but if you cut this in half and use one medium sized scoop of ice cream instead of one full pint of ice cream, you'll get two perfect servings. I don't know if something got lost in translation when the recipe was added to this site, but the way I did it worked for us.  -  06 Feb 2012  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)

Ok, there is only one thing to say for this....WOW! I can not wait until I make this again. Cozy by the fire watching falling leaves...great drink.  -  02 Oct 2003  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)

MMMMMMMMMMM....this simple extra at our party was the reason for lots of hugs and kisses from my sweet toothed, coffee loving male friends. Must make this much more often Kim....  -  20 Jan 2003  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)
