I'd recommend this recipe to anyone who likes cookies and milk. I used 4 cups of flour, 250g of chocolate chips, and 2 cups of walnuts. The chocolate chip and walnut combo was due to what I had in my pantry. At 7300 ft in altitude, I always use a little more flour in all of my recipes. These came out fluffy and tasted great. I like the idea of adding the bicarbonate of soda to hot water. I could the see the bubbles working immediately.
I baked these for 10 minutes at 190 C, and they came out fine.
I had one of them with a freezer cold glass of milk. Wonderful, and I will certainly use this recipe again.
These cookies are delicious!! I must admit though, they're insanely sweet (I'd recommend using less sugar - maybe 1 cup of brown, rather than 1 1/2 cups)!! I didn't use nuts because I didn't have any, maybe next time I'll use macadamias. I too baked them at 170 degrees for 10 mins. I used Nuttalex spread instead of butter and egg replacer instead of eggs, and cookies taste perfect. Makes 24?? How big were they?? Try more like 50!! I'll definitely make them again though!!
By far the best cookies I've come across. Try beat mrs fields in my eyes! Making my second batch in a matter of weeks at the moment! 50 cookies per a batch is a lot for two people to get through! Lol
This makes 24 if the biscuits are dinner plate size, there will be lots by the time the cooking is finished. I left out the salt by accident and find that they are very tasty without it. Also I omited the nuts. Very nice recipe indeed.
