Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Grease a 20cm square cake tin.
In a saucepan on a low heat, melt the milk and dark chocolate with the butter till smooth. Remove from heat, stir in the sugars until dissolved. Beat in eggs and vanilla, then add the flour, walnuts and the rest of the chocolate. Mix well.
Put the mixture into the cake tin and cook for 20-25 minuntes. Remove to cool for 30 minutes, if adding the fudge icing. If not the brownies are great warm!
Fudge Icing: Melt the chocolate, butter, golden syrup, vanilla and coffee essence in a saucepan. Once melted put in fridge to cool, until it's thick and can be spread over the brownies.
