Chocolate, Date and Coconut Bliss Balls

    These Moorish choc, date and coconut bliss balls are a perfect mid-morning or after-school snack. The almond butter can be replaced with peanut butter if you prefer.

    Makes: 20 bliss balls

    • 1 cup traditional rollled oats, lightly toasted
    • 180g Medjool dates, pitted
    • 2 tablespoons cacao powder
    • 1 tablespoon almond butter
    • 2 tablespoons water
    • 2/3 cup desiccated coconut, lightly toasted

    1. Process oats until finely chopped. Add dates, cacao powder, almond butter and water. Process until well combined.
    2. Using damp hands, roll date mixture into 18 balls (about 3 teaspoons of the mixture for each ball). Roll in coconut to coat. Place on a plate. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.


    Toast oats and coconut, separately, in a small frying pan. Store bliss balls in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
