Basil-Cucumber Mojito
Mint is not the only herb that works well with rum in a cocktail. Based on the mojito, give this basil and cucumber-flavoured cocktail a try.
Ingredients
Serves: 1
- 3 slices cucumber
- 8 basil leaves, or more to taste
- 2 slices of lime
- 2 shots rum, or to taste
- 2 sugar cubes
- ice cubes as required
- 1 splash soda water
- 1 cucumber wedge for garnish
- 1 sprig fresh basil for garnish

- Put cucumbers, basil leaves, lime slices, rum and sugar cubes into a metal cocktail shaker. Mash mixture together with a muddler until the sugar cubes have dissolved. Add ice, place lid onto the shaker and shake vigorously; strain into a chilled glass tumbler filled with ice. Top cocktail with soda water and garnish with cucumber and basil.
